WeatherWise magazine article on Eclipse 2017

I’ve already posted some information on the solar eclipse that will occur on August 21 across the US on this blog, but you might find this WeatherWise magazine article interesting because it describes the eclipse in more detail and discusses the weather impacts on viewing as well as how the eclipse might change the local weather.  Here in Athens we will have 99.1 percent of the sun covered, and we are expecting to see it significantly darker along with a temperature reduction that might be as much as 15 degrees.  This will happen even if it is cloudy and we can’t see the eclipse. You can read the article at http://www.weatherwise.org/Archives/Back%20Issues/2017/March-April%202017/2017_Total_Eclipse_full.html.
