My meeting in Asheville NC ended today with presentations from a number of federal agencies who are involved in collecting and disseminating climate information.  The biggest of all is the National Centers for Environmental Information, previously called the National Climatic Data Center, which is mainly located in Asheville just down the street from where we had our meeting.  NCEI has the world’s largest collection of weather and climate data, and almost all of it is free to the public (with the exception of certified reports that some lawyers need for court cases).  You can explore the data at https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov.  There’s a lot there, so if you need help finding what you need, you are always welcome to contact me for help.
