The WunderBlog posted an article a few days ago describing how bad the drought in Florida has become due to the combination of unusually warm temperatures and below-normal rainfall.  Even though this is generally a dry time of year for Florida, it has been dry even by their standards, and the Drought Monitor has been expanding drought in the peninsula and now abnormally dry conditions are also occurring in northern Florida.  One of the consequences of the dry conditions is an unusually large number of wildfires this year.  You can read more about it here.
