If you haven’t had enough snow this winter to get your annual “snow fix” you might be interested in this story from Weather Underground.  While I don’t often think of Japan as a snowy place (except for maybe in the far north), it turns out that because of cold Siberian air moving over the Pacific Ocean and up the mountains of Japan, there are areas in the islands there that receive up to 1500 inches per year.  That’s a lot of snow!  You can read more about it at https://www.wunderground.com/news/ocean-effect-snow-in-japan?__prclt=5My55TOW.
