The latest climate outlooks from the Climate Prediction Center show that for February and the February-March period, most of the Southeast are likely to continue to experience lingering effects from the dying La Niña, including above normal temperatures and below normal rainfall. Because of this, drought conditions are expected to remain in northern Georgia and Alabama, although some improvement is possible. Drought is also expected to develop in the Florida peninsula due to dry conditions there.
