While severe drought is affecting a lot of the Southeast, areas in Florida and South Carolina that got rain from the tropical storms this year are generally doing well, although yields have been reduced in some places.  The Packer noted here the pepper and green bean season may start low but that things should improve as the season progresses.

The Southeast Farm Press also noted here that research crops at Clemson University in South Carolina also fared better than expected in the flooding rains from Hurricane Matthew.  Ongoing research trials that included broccoli, peanuts, sweet potatoes and watermelons all suffered far less of a setback than originally feared.
