“Grazing the Net” blog had an interesting story this week about a farm in Texas that goes above and beyond the usual to protect their investment in prime livestock from severe weather. This farm is a breeding facility for champion horses, and they have a number of stallions with a value of up to several million dollars each.
Since the farm is located in a region with many strong tornadoes, they have built a tornado shelter that holds not only the farm workers but also up to 12 of their top stallions. The shelter is so strong that it can withstand a direct hit from an EF5 tornado. You can watch a video of the story and read more about it from KXII here. What do you do to protect your farm, livestock and family from severe weather?
