Yesterday several meteorology friends, including Jordan McLeod from the Southeast Regional Climate Center, posted pictures online showing the difference in size between Typhoon Atsani in the Pacific Ocean and Hurricane Danny in the Atlantic.  Here is the comparison of the two satellite images.  You can see how small Danny is compared to the very large Atsani.  Just for fun, I also screen captured the global winds for the two storms and posted it below.  Danny barely makes a dimple in the winds over the Atlantic, but Atsani makes a huge swirl in the wind field by comparison.
