Starting April 1, 2015, the National Weather Service in approximately half their offices around the country will issue severe weather warnings with new impact-based language included in the warning. The traditional language used for tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings will be supplemented by additional phrases such as “this is a particularly dangerous storm” when conditions warrant it.
