The outlook for the next two weeks is looking mostly cool and drier than average, although there will be some rain and a few warm days.  For the next week, most of the Southeast should see one shot of rain on Monday with totals of less than half an inch, followed by several dry days later in the week.  The week after that is forecast to have a high probability (greater than 50%) of being dry and a big cooler than average.  The dry spell has the potential to expand the abnormally dry patches which are showing up across a lot of the Southeast.  Meanwhile, the Northwest is getting pounded by the heavy rains from the latest atmospheric river event.
