NOAA’s Earth System Research Laboratory has put out a video which shows the change in carbon dioxide over time in the atmosphere on a variety of time scales.  It is interesting to see the difference between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.   The Northern Hemisphere has more land and less ocean than the Southern Hemisphere and so has more natural vegetation and croplands putting out carbon dioxide during the NH growing season.  You can see the video at https://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/ccgg/trends/history.html.
