The Capital Weather Gang at the Washington Post had an excellent article about weather forecasting myths in this week’s column (link here).  Maybe you’re guilty of propagating some of these myths yourself.  Do you ever say that meteorologists are usually wrong?  Or use the Farmers’ Almanac to get weather predictions months in advance? Or say that record low temperatures show that global warming is not a problem?  If so, you should read the article and see how weather forecasts have improved significantly in recent years but still can’t predict the weather months in advance.
