Heavy rainfall will plague the Northwest and Northeast of the US in the next week, but the Southeast will see mostly light amounts of precipitation. The only exception is the eastern half of North Carolina which will see rain associated with the storm that will be affecting the Northeast. Somewhat enhanced precipitation may also be seen near Miami on the southeast coast of Florida. Elsewhere in the Southeast, amounts should be less than a quarter inch, which will not alleviate the dry conditions which developed in the Southeast last summer. The rain will occur early in the period between Sunday and Tuesday, and after that it should be dry.
