We are thankful and grateful to be able to serve you in this awesome community! We are also thankful for all of our dedicated adult volunteers and teen leaders that make all we do possible. We have already recorded over 350 volunteer hours since August! Make sure to tell them how much they are appreciated when you visit us for some of the upcoming programs!

4-H Lingo

Cloverleaf: 4-H’er that is in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade
Junior: 4-H’er that is in 7th or 8th grade
Senior: 4-H’er in 9th-12th grades
County Council: monthly meeting for Junior and Senior 4-H’ers that focuses on leadership and life skills

5th Grade Clubs

We love seeing our 5th graders in their classrooms! Show your 4-H spirit when you earn points by wearing green, serving your community by bringing in can tabs, and participating in 4-H events outside of your classroom. MLC is ahead in our point contest (almost EVERYBODY there tried to name our cow!), but it is still early in our contest….

Cloverleaf Cooking: Nov. 27 (must have signed up for this program in September–we do have a wait list, so let us know if you are interested.)
Cloverleaf STEAM: Nov. 28 5:30-7pm, drop in’s welcome. Meets in room 143 @ Coastal Georgia Community College in Kingsland.
County Council: (7th-12th grades only) Dec. 9 5 -10pm. Christmas themed event–email ssahadeo@uga.edu for details and to register.
Homeschool Clubs: December 7, 11:00-12:30. Grades 2nd-12th. Meets in room 143 @ Coastal Georgia Community College in Kingsland
Community Service: Dress festively and join us to ring bells for Salvation Army Dec. 14 & 19, 4:30-6:30pm at Walmart. Parents must be present for anyone under 13. Email ssahadeo@uga.edu to register.

UPDATES / REMINDERS:

We are preparing to close out this year, and begin 2024 with all of our core 4-H programs like Project Achievement for our Juniors and Seniors followed by our Cloverleafs, summer camp announcements are coming soon, and our BB team will start their competition season in the new year too.
Before all that starts, we want to make sure you know we appreciate you, enjoy programming with you, and wish you a healthy and happy finish to 2023.

WE ADOPTED A COW — DRUMROLL PLEASE… and our cow’s name is…MILKSHAKE!
We’ve adopted a cow to learn about all things dairy! Check out our cow’s home, Big Sandy Creek Farm in Madison Georgia (they have a Facebook page!) to learn about dairy farming, and take our quiz below to earn points!

Some of the most popular suggestions were Bessie, Clover, Daisy, Milkshake, and Oreo. Some others that really stood out was “Steaky McCow Face” and “Cow-word”, but our teens have voted and Milkshake she will be. Check her out here: Milkshake Updates
