A website from UGA Cooperative Extension

Many of our peanut growers are preparing for the upcoming season, but now is the time to consider and apply for the 2022 Georgia Peanut Achievement Club. Worth County has been well represented in past years in this high yield recognition for growers.

In short, there are 3 acreage categories of growers: 100 to 299.9 acres; 300 to 699.9 acres; and 700+ acres. Georgia is divided into 4 peanut growing districts. Winners will be selected in each acreage category in each growing district, so there will be 12 district winners. There will also be 1 state winner in each acreage category, so there will be 3 state winners. A total of 15 winners will be recognized. See the rules and application below for details. If someone needs a hard copy, the copies are available at the Worth County Extension Office.

The winners in this year’s GPAC, as in the past, will receive a trip and professional improvement seminar sponsored for the grower and his or her spouse, and the county agent and spouse. The date of the trip will be the 2nd or 3rd weekend in August. Entries are due by Friday, April 3, 2023.
