The University of Georgia is awaiting a decision from the U.S. EPA on whether or not producers who completed the Using Pesticides Wisely (UPW) training last year will be required to completed the training again this year in order to apply dicamba products in 2020. This decision may not be announced until early March. Therefore, two UPW training schedules have been developed. If only applicators that were not trained last year will be required to complete the training, there will only be 9 training opportunities offered across the state. Many more training opportunities will be offered if all dicamba applicators must be trained in 2020.
