Cotton: Stemphylium Leaf Spot is starting to rear its head. This hot and dry weather saps the potassium out of the plant which opens sit up to stemphylium. Not much we can do about it now, there are no fungicide options for stemphylium.

Peanuts: I’m seeing more and more Tomato Spotted Wilt (TSWV). The heavy number of thrips, seed issues, and planting issues very likely have had an impact on TSWV. Whitemold is still a concern. Don’t wait and try to play catch up. All the peanut fields I’ve been in have been clean but they are on a religious spray program. Some wireworm damage has been found.
Soybeans: Soybean Rust is in North Florida. I would put a fungicide out with insecticide and Boron.
Hay: Bermudagrass Stem Maggot (BSM) has always been a pest but BSM came a little earlier this year but it along with the weather is messing with our hay production. BSM kills the top two leaves of the plant which stops growth and limits yield. While this is bad the lack of rain only exacerbates the situation.
