Getting your Trinity Audio player ready…

As I talk with people in agriculture about our farm stress work, I often get asked if there is a simple, central resource that discusses farmer stress—something that has information on what stress is and what it does, skills for managing stress, warning signs when stress gets too high in farmers, and what a loved one can do to help.

I’ve looked, but could never find something like that for farmers in Georgia, so our team developed it. It’s a booklet called Resources for Farmers Under Stress and People Who Care About Them, and it compiles some of the best information from expert sources on farm stress, suicide prevention, substance use, and how people who care about farmers can help.

You can find Resources for Farmers Under Stress and People Who Care About Them at the UGA Extension site. I hope you find it helpful. Keep a copy around—someday someone you care about might be in a really bad spot, and the information in this booklet could help them. And of course, read it yourself –there may be some tips and ideas in it that will help keep you thriving!
