Its late summer, the pecan crop’s development is rapidly coming to a close, and the time has arrived for field days, which provide an opportunity for pecan growers to gather in the orchard to discuss this year’s crop along with the latest on-going research and issues related to pecans. The Southeast Georgia Pecan Field day will be Wednesday August 19, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in Baxley, GA. This event has been held for the past 2 to 3 seasons and has grown each year. In addition the Georgia Pecan Growers Association Field Day will be held at the USDA Southeast Tree Fruit & Nut Lab in Byron, GA on September 3, 2015. Admission is free for GPGA members and $20 for non-members. See here for more info on GPGA Field Day.
