Chocolate Peanut Butter Hummus

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained and rinsed well

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

  • 3 Tablespoons milk

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

  • Add all ingredients into a food processor and process until completely smooth. Add a little more milk if necessary to create a smooth consistency.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness by adding a little more brown sugar if needed, particularly if using no-sugar added peanut butter.

Notes

  • Serve with graham crackers, carrot sticks, celery sticks, or apple slices.
  • This recipe yields the best results when a high-powered food processor is used. If you’re using a lower power food processor, you may need to add additional milk or water and your consistency may not be completely smooth.
