The Oglethorpe County 4-H Forestry Judging Team competed at the District Forestry Judging Competition at Sandy Creek Nature Center on September 4th. The youth spent four weeks and 10 practices working to master aspects of the Forestry profession such as: tree identification, insect & disease identification, compass & pacing, and timber volume estimation. The Junior Team did an amazing job placing 3rd out of 8 teams! Junior team members are: Xander Buska, Max Cheesborough, Blane Latimer, Nolan Green, Mae Mathews, Lou Miller and Annalea Tillman. Senior team members also did an outstanding job. Senior team members are: Georga Coile, Audrey Green, Aden Latimer and Angel Russell.

Oglethorpe County had three 4-H’ers in the top 10, out of 41 competitors. Lou Miller and Annalea Tillman tied and placed 7th, Nolan Green placed 9th overall!
