Georgia is the leading producer of poultry in the United States. With the poultry industry being so important in this region and the source of many livelihoods, it is no shock that 4-H Poultry Judging is so popular among youth. Participation in 4-H Poultry Judging can kickstart a child’s love for raising chickens and egg production, possibly even a career. In 4-H Poultry Judging a child is introduced to many aspects in the poultry industry such as: Bleaching Order, Candling, Egg Exterior Quality, Broken Out Eggs and Parts Identification. Kids learn about chickens and have a blast!
Oglethorpe County 4-H Poultry Judging Practices will begin on Monday, February 5th at the 4-H Office from 3:30-5:00pm.
