Eight Oglethorpe County 4-H’ers competed for honors at Junior/ Senior District Project Achievement on March 10-12, 2023. Middle and high school 4-H’ers showed off their presentation and writing skills through their 4-H demonstrations and 4-H project portfolios.  Approximately 230 4-H’ers from Northeast District competed.

Junior 4-H’ers did very well at District Project Achievement. Taking 1st place was Allison Kitchen with her handmade dress in the Fashion Review Project. Also taking 1st place was Abigail Whitney in the Dairy Project. And proudly placing 2nd in the popular Horse Project was Katherine Horsley.

Senior 4-H’ers did an outstanding job as well. Kate Spearing placed 1st in the Safety Project, earning a trip to State 4-H Congress in Atlanta to compete at the State level in July! This is a huge accomplishment! Also competing as Seniors were:  Lyla Bryant and Audrey Green in the General Recreation Project and Rae McBride and Devyn Patrick in the Health Project.  We are very proud of all our 4-H’ers and strongly encourage them to keep up their hard work!  The 4-H’ers were led by the 4-H Agent Marcus Eason and 4-H Americorps Member Amber Waldroup.
