Georgia River of Words connects K-12 students to their watersheds through poetry and art! During January host an after-school club or special activity that highlights art and poetry. At the end of the month submit students’ work to Georgia Project WET. To see past entries and to see the entry rules follow the previous links.

The Georgia Project WET has even created a teacher guide that includes a list of nature centers in Georgia (may be helpful for future day camps), activity guides, and tools to host your own art exhibit (great parent event for your center).

If anyone uses the activity guide or submits art entries I would love to hear about the facilitator’s experience and youth experience. This sounds like a fun way to incorporate science and art; however, I have not personally used this resource. If anyone has other resources you have found beneficial feel free to share with the group (send to laurwalt@uga.edu).
