Developed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), the Science and Our Food Supply curriculum guides contain engaging, hands-on activities that empower students to make informed choices about food safety, nutrition, and biotechnology. They are crafted in a facilitator-friendly modular format that easily teaches science and healthy living concepts to middle and high school students. These resource guides can be found at the FDA’s website as well as within our 4-H Staff Only files in 4-H Enrollment: Curriculum Resources/Agriculture, Science, and STEAM/Science and Our Food Supply.

The topics in these guides easily span all our Extension program areas and provide engaging and user-friendly ways to present the content to youth. Background information, videos, detailed lesson plans, student worksheets, resources, etc. – – it’s all there are ready for you to use! These activities could be great for in- and after-school 4-H youth programming, specialty 4-H clubs, summer activities, etc.
