Georgia 4-H staff hope you are doing well and can enjoy time with your children and youth whether that is virtually or face-to-face. We recognize that you are continuing to provide positive youth development on your installation and we want to continue to support your efforts. The University of Georgia and Georgia 4-H has released the 2021 professional development offerings. In FY21 all virtual training will be covered at no cost to military partners; however face-to-face training will not be covered. We hope the variety of offerings will support your staff as they continue to provide positive experiences for young people.

Attached is a list of statewide training opportunities staff can participate in. I broke the chart down into the following categories: science, healthy living, staff/best practices, and civic engagement (in the PDF to save space I color-coded the previous groups). If staff plan to participate please email Laura Goss, laurwalt@uga.edu. I will need to know the staff names and their emails. If you need specific training that is not listed let me know and we can discuss how to best support your team. Lastly, if a training listed does not work for your staff’s timeframe let me know and I will work with the state specialist to plan a training that works. So, in short, we want to support you and your staff. Let’s keep the lines of communication open to ensure you and your staff are supported directly and indirectly. You can always connect with your local office to learn about local programs and for direct support too.

Stay tuned throughout the year to learn about national 4-H professional development, conferences, or other events through this Blog. I provide updates bi-weekly related to the former.

To find out more about more details related to the professional development in the PDF such as the time or cost of the face-to-face training contact Laura Goss. Again, Georgia 4-H is happy to be a resource for military installations across the state.
