Join us on November 7 for Weekend in the Classic City: Everyone Has a Place. This Georgia 4-H event is a future-focused virtual program for high school aged (14-18) 4-H’ers to explore pathways to higher education.

In conjunction with Georgia Collegiate 4-H Chapters, this event showcases the University of Georgia, in Athens, and allows youth to gather a firsthand experience of campus and higher education. This will be accomplished through a virtual tour of campus and tour of a residence hall. Additionally, youth will participate in workshops that provide information to help guide their choices and actions related to their future. This will include hearing from the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Undergraduate Admissions, The Office of Student Financial Aid, a student-led panel, and more!

All participants registered for the event will receive supplies in a package mailed to their county 4-H office.

This opportunity is open to any 9th-12th grade 4-H member in the 2019-2020 school term. There is a registration cost of $10 to cover the cost of shipping supplies.

NOTE FOR 4-H MILITARY PARTNERS:

This is a great way for your older youth audience to connect with other teens their age and help prepare them for college. There is a minimal cost for the event, but it provides youth with great resources.. In the recent partnership meeting a concern for staff across the country was the lack of participation on base due to virtual school. Here is one way to support your audience from a distance without adding additional burdens to staff.
