August and September’s “Zoom into Science” sessions feature a variety of interesting topics from a wide array of guest speakers. You may consider hosting a viewing party at your Extension office, community center, etc.  Anyone can participate – – – they just have to register!  We’ve also seen great success with county 4-H offices creating online Facebook events for each session.  Social media graphics (PNG files formatted for Facebook) are attached to this e-mail for easy promotion; all you need to do is share!

These online, 1-hour zoom sessions allow participants to learn more from experts in their field as well as being exposed to a variety of science-related careers.  Each Zoom will end with a “question and answer” session with the scientist(s), allowing your 4-H’ers to directly engage with these individuals.  Families will pre-register using the links provided.  E-mail confirmations with the Zoom log-in instructions will only be sent to registered attendees.  We ask our presenters to gear the content for upper elementary and middle school students.  However, we do realize that many families may be watching together, so it could be a great educational experience for younger or older youth.

Do you have a suggestion for a guest scientist for an upcoming “Zoom into Science” session?  E-mail me Kasey Bozeman.
