Teams of either four or five members from one county compete in a game show type format and answer questions related to equine subject matter. Play consists of double-elimination tournament style matches where two teams compete at a time. Members of the winning senior division team become master 4-H’ers and go on to compete at a designated national competition.

Join or Start a Team: Teams generally meet once a week for 1-2 months in preparation for the competition. Connect with your local 4-H Agent to see if they have an established team in order to send base 4-H’ers too county club practices or for assistance on starting your club team on base.
Consider, changing up your on-base club meetings to include a focus on Horse Quiz Bowl. You can invite horse educators to base for your club team and the link above has great resources for educators. While it might be too late to compete at the competition in 2020 you always spend time learning about Horse Quiz Bowl with your teens this year and plan to compete in 2021.
