Resources for GA MGEVs

The Great Southeast Pollinator Census is a University of Georgia project open to citizen scientists in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi. This project is designed for everyone to participate and make a difference for pollinator conservation! This year’s Census dates are August 21-22, 2026.

Most MGEVs have been participating in the Census for years and you likely have events planned around it in your county. In case you haven’t already heard, there is now a course associated with the census project. A few tickets are still available for this seven-week webinar series that gives participants the chance to dive deeper into the fascinating insects counted during the Census—exploring their identification, ecology, and the essential roles they play in our ecosystems. This course has been years in the making and was inspired by requests from Extension agents across the region who wanted a deeper learning opportunity connected to the Census. Learn more and about the series and register on the course’s webpage. Happy learning!
