Resources for GA MGEVs

Are you skilled and trained in grammar? Maybe a former English teacher or professional writer? If so, and you’d like to apply those skills to your MGEV role, please read on!

The State Program Office is looking for volunteers who will proof chapters of the Georgia Master Gardener Handbook. We are in the third phase of review, and all content needs to be read for punctuation and grammar. Chapters are in Word at this stage and will be sent to proofreaders via Email attachment. Proofreaders can either edit in Word using track changes OR print out the chapter and use a red pen to mark it up (document can be returned by U.S. mail or scanned and sent as Email attachment). These chapters will take several hours each to review and will need to be proofed and returned by the end of October. Hours spent proofreading may certainly be reported as volunteer service hours.

If you are willing to help us with this portion of the handbook revision process, please email Sheri Dorn, State Coordinator (sdorn@uga.edu). Kindly indicate how many chapters you would be willing to review and that you can complete them in the timeframe indicated. Thanks so much for your consideration!
