Gordon County 4-H has a County Council officer team appointed each year to serve as the youth leaders of the Gordon County 4-H program. Positions are open to anyone in 6th-12th grade (some limited to 9th grade and above). Applications are due by next Friday, July 23 and officer selection will be announced via email by Tuesday, July 27 to all applicants.
County Council Officer Job Descriptions
President
- Open to 9th-12th graders
- Presides at all County Council events, officer meetings, and Awards Ceremony
- Planning and coordinating annual Awards Ceremony
- Appoints members of special projects committees; examples include awards ceremony slideshow, t-shirt design, 4-H tri-fold board
Vice-President
- Open to 9th-12th graders
- Presides at meetings in the President’s absence
- Serve in an advisory capacity to the President
- Hold the assemblage to the order of business and settle all questions concerning Parliamentary Procedure
Secretary
- Open to 9th-12th graders
- Records and reads minutes of each County Council event and officer meeting
- Keep committee reports
- Prepares and runs registration table at County Council events
Board Members
- Open to 6th-12th graders
- Participates in all scheduled County Council events, officer meetings, and Awards Ceremony
- Participate in special projects committees as assigned
