Heather N. Kolich, ANR Agent, UGA Extension Forsyth County

Each year, the USDA Farm Service Agency asks UGA county Extension agents to help in developing grazing and forage loss estimates for each county. As the Forsyth County Extension agent, I am asking producers who grow hay and/or forage in Forsyth County to use this SURVEY FORM to report drought-related loss of perennial hay and forage grasses during the March 15-November 30, 2025, growing season. The report submitted to FSA will be a summary of losses reported in the county. No names or identifying information will be collected or shared.

These reports, based on county producer responses, play a role in determining if the county is designated as having experienced drought conditions leading to forage loss. Producers in counties affected by drought may qualify for financial support through the USDA/FSA Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP). If you did not experience drought-related forage loss, that information is also important and your time in the survey will be very short.
