The Crop Progress and Condition Report was released yesterday (May 19, 2025). This report shows that last week 55% of the state peanut crop is planted, which is an increase from 37% from the previous week. The 5-year average for peanut planting for this time of year is 51%.  The cotton crop in Georgia is 41% planted.  The previous week was 24 % planted.  The 5-year average for cotton planting at this time of year is 45%.

The Drought Monitor shows that 52% of Colquitt County is experiencing abnormally dry conditions. Drought Monitor indicates that 13% of Georgia is experiencing abnormally dry conditions last week.
