I’m hearing of some bad outbreaks of Anthracnose fruit rot on pepper this week. This anthracnose attacks the fruit only and can infect all types of pepper (ie bell, jalapeno, banana, etc.). Below are a few pictures to illustrate symptoms caused by this disease.

Unfortunately the only labeled fungicides to manage this disease are strobilurins, which creates a dilemma as to how to rotate chemistries for resistance management. Our best recommendation is to rotate either Cabrio or Quadris with Bravo. Bravo provides pretty good protection but be mindful that it has a 14 day PHI.

Downy Mildew pressure is high on cucurbit right now. Rotating Ranman and Zampro tank-mixed with chlorothalonil and mancozed are your best bet. Symptoms look different across the cucurbits. Below are a few pictures for your reference.

Broad mites are showing up this year so be on the lookout. I don’t have any pictures to illustrate but the plants will look a little like they have gotten a drift rate of 2,4-D.
