The latest 7 day QPF map shows that we should see dry conditions for the next couple of days while many people are traveling for Christmas, then wet weather for Christmas Day and the following two days before dry conditions return to the region later next week, moving in from west to east. Most areas should see around an inch to 1.5 inches, with higher amounts in the mountains and lower amounts in the Florida peninsula. There could also be wetter conditions in southern Alabama and the western part of the Florida Panhandle. Following the Christmas rain, colder and drier conditions are expected to move into the region and a pattern shift to cooler conditions should take us into the first part of 2024.
