It allows you to select a location and a radius of interest and provides information on all of the storms that have passed within that circle since records started. Of course, while historical tracks provide some guidance for what has happened before, they are no guarantee that the next hurricane will move in a similar path, so make sure to use reliable sources like the National Hurricane Center for up to date forecasts for future storms like Hurricane Irma.
