The latest 7-day QPF map shows that most of the Southeast should be dry over the weekend other than Alabama. After that, showers should increase by midweek ahead of the next system, which will bring rain to a lot of the region by next weekend. Amounts are not expected to be very heavy, though. Temperatures will continue to be mild. No big pattern changes are expected for the next couple of weeks, so these conditions are likely to continue through at least mid-January.
