The latest 7-day QPF map shows that seasonal rains should fall across the Southeast in the next week, with most places expected to receive an inch or more of rain, and isolated areas receiving 2-3 inches, including the mountainous areas. The heaviest rains are likely to be this weekend through Monday, with heavier rains farther south Tuesday through Thursday before drier conditions return late in the week. You can get these maps for yourself from https://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/qpf/day1-7.shtml and see the modeled weather they are based on (using the GFS) at https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysis/models/.
