This week’s rainfall should be moderate for most parts of the Southeast.  The best chances for rain are later in the week for most of the region.  The heaviest amounts will be along the Gulf Coast and along the west coast of the Florida peninsula.

Temperatures early in the week should be well above average and heat stress will be a problem in some areas (see my post yesterday about finding heat stress forecast maps for more details).  By the end of the week, a change in the large scale weather pattern should bring hot weather to the western part of the US and cooler weather to us in the Southeast.
