The latest 7-day QPF forecast is, as you might expect, dominated by the rainfall from Hurricane Irma, which is already battering southern Florida with the outer spiral bands. Most of this week’s rain will fall in the first three days, with lighter amounts for the rest of the week. Keep in mind that this rainfall pattern is highly dependent on the path of Irma so don’t be surprised if the highest amounts shift in value as well as location, but the general pattern and amounts should hold. The highest rain amounts will be to the right of Irma’s path wherever it goes. The storm is expected to become a depression and slow down as it moves into northern Georgia and Tennessee, which could increase rain amounts there if it stalls out, although it won’t be anything like Harvey in Texas.
