The latest 7-day QPF map shows that rain will affect most of the Southeast except for the Florida peninsula this week. The heaviest rain will be located in North Carolina, which should help the drought there. For the most part, the rain is associated with a front that is moving back and forth through the region this weekend, but it is expected to move through most of the region by Sunday night, and the rest of the week should be relatively dry and a lot cooler and less humid.
