For climatologists, today is the first day of fall. We use calendar months instead of the astronomical calendar because in the past it was easier to do climate calculations using the calendar month. But it turns out that the climatological seasons are better aligned with what we actually see in the annual swing of temperatures as well. So happy fall to all y’all!
