The latest Drought Monitor, released today, show that abnormally dry conditions (D0) have expanded in eastern Virginia as well as slight increases in the Carolinas and Florida, but there was little increase in drought overall. With almost no rain and temperatures well above normal in the next week, we can expect those to expand on next week’s map. If you are seeing impacts from the dry conditions such as lack of corn pollination, please report them via the Condition Monitoring Report. You can get more information on how to do this at https://site.extension.uga.edu/climate/2021/04/new-condition-monitoring-website/.
