Today Hurricane Danielle formed in the central Atlantic, far from land over a patch of unusually warm water much farther north than most hurricanes form. This is the first hurricane named in 2022 but probably will not be the last. Danielle is not a threat to land, although remnants of Danielle might eventually bring some rain to the British Islands.
