The Capital Weather Gang blog noted today that the fall-blooming cherry blossoms in Washington DC are still going strong after a very warm fall and early winter. Apparently there are a number of trees that have a second blooming season in autumn after the leaves have fallen off the trees. While it’s not as spectacular as the spring blossom season, it’s still interesting to see pink flowers on the trees in December. How long will it last? The warmth is expected to continue for the rest of this month, so some blossoms could last into January.
