The Augusta Chronicle ran an article in late August describing the effects that scientists expect will occur on Georgia’s coastline as sea levels continue to rise.  You can read the article online here.

Scientists from the University of Georgia’s Skidaway Institute of Oceanography are refining land elevation measurements and computer simulations to improve the prediction of how much salt marsh will be reduced over time and how that will affect its ability to buffer hurricane surges as well as provide areas for development of economically and ecologically important species like shrimp and blue crab.
