The latest NOAA outlook for April 2018 shows that no strong tendencies in either temperature or precipitation are expected this month in the Southeast. There is a small area which is leaning towards above-normal temperature in the southern half of the Florida peninsula and a slight tendency towards cold weather in Virginia but otherwise the region is showing equal chances of below, above or near normal temperatures. Wet conditions are likely again in the Ohio River Valley and extending down into northern Alabama and Georgia and parts of the Carolinas, while dry conditions are more likely to continue in southern Florida. This is likely to increase drought in that part of the Southeast. Drought is also likely to continue in Southeast Georgia and the south coast of South Carolina but is expected to be reduced elsewhere.
