Another wet week is expected for most of the Southeast next week, with some mountainous areas expecting to receive up to 5 inches of rain. A lot of the rain should come over the weekend with lighter amounts later in the week. The only exception is the Florida peninsula, where amounts are likely to be less than half an inch. This should continue to put a dent in drought conditions across the region in next week’s Drought Monitor.
