With the current weather pattern locked in place, high pressure will dominate most of our region for the next week. This means little chance of precipitation falling, and most areas will get less than a quarter of an inch for the week. Most of that is likely to fall late in the week as the system starts to move out. This lack of rainfall will not help the current abnormally dry conditions that are affecting parts of the region, and it may increase a bit in next Thursday’s Drought Monitor. Meanwhile, the same system is bringing heavy rains to parts of Texas, Oklahoma and the central Plains.
